NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service

Have been following this tv series lately.

The story of the series is mainly on the counter-terrorist topics and crime related to Navy. The characters are a mixed of law enforcement personnel coming from diverse backgrounds. For example Gibbs, the team head or leader, is from the Marines. Tony Dinozzo is from the police force, Ziva is a Mossad agent, McGee a MIT grad computer forensic expert, Abbey is a forensic expert, and Ducky is the medical examiner. For more info on characters and past characters click here.

The combination of the investigation story and characters makes this tv series addicting. Episodes are created to include part of the characters personality or history. Gibbs being the leader has most episodes due to his Marine affiliation and his dedication to the service in stopping terrorism.

A spinoff series is on the way. It is the NCIS:Los Angeles which has a first glimpse at NCIS's season 6 episode 22 titled Legend. The new series will have Callen(played by Chris O'Donnell) as the lead character just like Gibbs.

Royal Pains

"Some doctors still make house calls"

That is the tag line of the new medical drama/comedy series Royal Pains. I was able to see the first episode(if you didn't go to Hulu.com)and I think this one has the potential to be another one of the series that will have huge followers.

The story revolves around Hank. A great doctor with a MacGyver like capabilities in emergencies. He is more of that doctor who sees the profession to be that of serving first before money. His attitude led him to his being blacklisted to the top hospitals when he decided to prioritize on a normal kid instead of the rich donor of the hospital he is employed. And he ended up jobless until his brother drag him to The Hamptons, the paradise of the famous, rich, and royalties.

There as he was trying to enjoy and forget his misfortunes, he attends a sick model in one of the Hamptons party scene. There he was discovered and word spread about Hank, now known as the concierge doctor...people just call him and text their address and just like the very first doctors, make house calls.

Terminator Salvation

"You are the resistance"

That is the famous line in the latest installment of the Terminator series.

I watched the movie as a birthday gift to myself(lol). I don't want to spoil it for those who hadn't watch it yet but I will tell you the a brief about it. As with all the Terminator movies, the story is all about saving John Connor. In the first it was to save John's mother, second was to save him when he was still young, on the third it was to save him and to make sure that he survives Judgement Day, and the latest was to save his father, Kyle Reese who was a young teenager leading a small resistance group(actually very small only him and a young kid) at the same time earning his coat to be part of the resistance.

Watch the trailer from Youtube here.

As always there was a robot involve in the story. The machine character was Marcus, a convicted murderer who donated his body for science in 2003. He never knew he was a cyborg until he was being attended for his wounds by Kate, John Connor's wife.

Marcus was not controlled by Skynet in a sense that he can act independently. His purpose was, as per Skynet, was to infiltrate humans by being human enough in his emotions. He has feelings because his brain and heart were intact to his robotic body.

A very important flavor of the Terminator series is that a machine saves a man. In the end Marcus gave his heart to John to save the human race. That proves that though he has a machine's body he has a human heart....that is to feel....
